Overview of Biophysical Properties of Healthy and Cancer Cells
Healthy Cells
- In eukaryotic cells mitochondria produce adenosine and guanosine triphosphate (ATP and GTP, respectively) by oxidative metabolism and form an ordered water layer around them excluding positively charged molecules, particles etc.; the layer is called exclusion zone.
- Energy supplied to microtubules excites and maintains coherent electric polar vibrations forming coherent electrodynamic state far from the thermodynamic equilibrium in the whole biological entity.
- Synchronization, force effects for transport, interactions, and information transfer are functions of the excited coherent electrodynamic field.
Cancer Cells
- Cancer is initiated by oncogene mutation during division of the normal self-renewing cells. Low resistance to genome mutation results from decreased power of the electric polar vibrations caused, for instance, by prolonged parasitic energy consumption by RNA of the lactate dehydrogenase elevating virus.
However, cancer might be initiated without oncogene mutation if the energy supply to mitochondria is lowered by parasitic energy consumption under a critical level necessary for the change of ordered water layer around mitochondria.
Cancer may be also initiated by short-circuiting of electrodynamic fields in the cell, e.g. by conducting nanofibres.
- Transport of pyruvate to mitochondria matrix is inhibited in cancer cells of the Warburg effect and in fibroblasts associated with cancer cells of the reverse Warburg effect. As the resulting exclusion zones around mitochondria are changed and exclude negatively charged particles, in particular electrons released in ordered water.
- The coherent electric polar vibrations in microtubules are damped by electrons at the rim of the changed exclusion layer.
- In nonlinear systems frequency of oscillations depends on energy stored in the system.
- Energy stored in cancer cells of the Warburg effect is lower and in cancer cells of the reverse Warburg effect due to supply of energy rich metabolites from associated fibroblasts higher than in healthy cells. The frequency shifts in both phenotypes correspond to the stored energy.
- Due to frequency shifts of oscillations in cancer cells their interaction with healthy cells in the tissue is disturbed and the pathway to local invasion and metastasis open.
