The recent floods in north and central Moravia have caused extensive damage to roads. However, the situation on the rivers is calming down. The roads which were under water are being reopened now, although some of them have been partially damaged so they cannot be used in their full width.
Most of the main roads are open now. The road I/67 remains closed between Karvina and Cesky Tesin (as of May 20, 2010). Side roads in distant areas may still be affected.
Heavy rainfalls also afflicted operation of several railway lines in central and north Moravia where some rail sections were inundated and had to be discontinued.
Four railway lines in Moravia are still discontinued (May 20, 2010).
